Back in the spring of 2003, the Powers-that-Be were preparing their campaign to overthrow the regime in Iraq. As many of us know, the World witnessed the largest public demonstrations in history in many countries all over the world. We were honoured to be invited to transmit live audio from Hyde Park in London (around 2,000,000 people) and Plaça Tetuan in Barcelona (around 1,500,000 people) to others on the Net. The audio streams were retransmitted live via local radio in Holland and also to demonstrators gathered in New York. Coverage of these unprecedented days in our history by the mass media left something to be desired.....

Protesters returned to London's Hyde Park on Saturday, 12 April to raise their voices against the on-going war in Iraq. This national demonstration formed part of the anti-war protests that took place worldwide on the same day. Psand.net, in collaboration with Cable Radio (now sadly defunct) and Radio Vague, provided connection to the Internet via satellite to broadcast a live radio stream of all the speakers, interviews and music from the main stage.

The meeting at Hyde Park is took place between 13:00 and 18:00 and was organised by the Stop the War Coalition, CND and the Muslim Association of Britain.

We hope one day to obtain the recordings from the largest ever public rallies in the UK, on the 15th February, 22nd March and 12th April. When we do get these, we shall make them available via the lovely people over at Radio Vague.
